An investigation is underway in the Chernihiv region regarding the abuse of authority by TRC employees

It is noted that a video is circulating online showing possible abuse of power with the use of physical force by military personnel from one of the RTRC departments in Chernihiv during notification activities.

"We inform you that an internal investigation has been appointed in connection with this fact to establish all circumstances, causes of the incident, and those involved," the statement said.

According to preliminary information, when TRC employees gathered to check military registration documents of citizens, "they began to exhibit provocative behavior." After a dialogue, one of them agreed to proceed to the TRC, and upon arrival, complained of shoulder pain and claimed a possible fracture.

An ambulance delivered him to a medical facility, but the surgeon did not find any injuries to confirm this.

In the TRC it is noted that this citizen was wanted for evading military duty during mobilization. Military personnel offered him to proceed to the TRC and SS, after which he started behaving aggressively and struck one of them in the leg while attempting to escape.

It is reported that the serviceman who was subjected to force is a combat veteran. The blow landed on the leg that was injured while he was performing combat missions at the front.

"The leadership of the Chernihiv Regional TRC and SS does not justify the abuse of power by the military personnel, while it strongly condemns the violation of legal requirements by citizens regarding military duty and mobilization, as well as the use of physical force against representatives of the territorial recruitment and social support centers," the TRC emphasized.
