Actively utilizes aviation: In the Sumy direction, the enemy continues shelling, – SBGS
Initially, during their offensive in the Sumy region, the Russian army did not heed losses, but now the situation has changed.
In the Sumy direction, the enemy continues shelling, and attempts to advance small assault groups persist, but their activity has decreased. This was reported by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, on the "We-Ukraine" broadcast.
The Russians are also actively using aviation, dropping guided bombs and striking with unguided aviation rockets.
"Within the Yunakivska and Hotynska communities - in such a small section compared to the entire length of the border with the Russian Federation in the Sumy region - the enemy does not cease its tactics of attempting to advance small assault groups. However, as the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recently noted, the enemy has been restrained and their advance has been stopped. This can also be confirmed in the defence sectors where the State Border Guard Service units are located. Indeed, the activity of enemy small infantry groups has significantly decreased," he noted.
At the beginning of their offensive in the Sumy region, the Russian army ignored losses, but now the situation has changed. Demchenko noted that the use of small assault groups to cross the border has significantly decreased.
"The use of quad bikes and motorcycles, which they previously employed quite actively in attempts to advance deeper into our country’s territory due to their speed, has also decreased significantly. In this direction, the enemy still does not use armored vehicles, possibly due to a shortage or perhaps preserving them for future actions. At the same time, attempts to use convoys of equipment, which the enemy tried to carry out back in the spring, show that such equipment will be destroyed by our defence forces while still approaching our border," he concluded.
