U.S. President’s Special Representative Keith Kellogg, during his official visit to the capital of Ukraine, met with key leaders of the security and defense sector. In particular, he listened to reports from Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence, and Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umyerov in his Facebook post.

According to the minister, the talks with Kellogg were deep and frank. One of the key topics was the implementation of joint defense projects between Ukraine, the United States, and European partners, particularly in the area of creating air defense systems and expanding armament production in Ukraine. Some initiatives are already being implemented, while others are in the initial stages.

Umerov also emphasized that Ukraine has unique combat experience, especially in the field of drone usage, and is ready to share it with its partners. The issue of sanctions pressure on Russia was separately discussed, with a focus on the energy sector, which is a source of financing for its aggression.

The American side received a detailed assessment of the situation on the front during a special briefing by the leaders of the security forces. In addition to Budanov and Syrskyi, Andriy Hnatov, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and intelligence representatives participated.

"The delegation was informed about the current situation, Russia’s plans for escalation, and its potential preparation for a broader conflict not only against Ukraine but also NATO. The most urgent needs of the army in modern armament were also outlined," Umyerov noted.
