Ukraine has lost almost all M1 Abrams tanks — only four remain in service

Russia has practically rendered the M1 Abrams tank fleet supplied to Ukraine inoperative, reports The National Interest, citing data from Military Watch Magazine.

According to sources, out of the 31 tanks provided by the U.S. last year, only four remain operational — that’s about 13% of the total number.

Although the Abrams is considered one of the most technologically advanced and reliable main battle tanks, its effectiveness on the Ukrainian front has proven to be extremely low. The publication points to a number of factors: lack of air and artillery support, a shortage of qualified mechanics, insufficient personnel, and difficulties in technical maintenance. All of this combined has made the operation of the Abrams on the battlefield extremely problematic.
