Leonid Yakovyshyn, a well-known agrarian and former Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, has passed away

The Bobrovytsia community reports the death of Leonid Yakovyshyn, General Director of LLC "Zemlya i Volya".

Leonid Yakovyshyn was born on May 19, 1939, in Vinnytsia region. He was an agronomist by education and also studied at the postgraduate program of the Kyiv Agricultural Academy, holding a Candidate of Economic Sciences degree.

He began his career as an agronomist at the “Myrohoshchanskyi” state farm in Dubno district of Rivne region. Since 1970, he held the position of director of the Mainy state farm-technical school, which was renamed Bobrovytsia state farm-technical school in 1978.

In 1995, he became the General Director of LLC "Zemlya i Volya", established on the basis of the reorganized Bobrovytsya state farm-technical school. This is one of the largest agricultural enterprises in Ukraine. In terms of land bank volume, the enterprise ranks 51st in the "Top 100 Latifundists of Ukraine" rating — over 32.5 thousand hectares.

He was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine — serving as a Member of Parliament in the first convocation from March 1990 to April 1994 from the Kozeletsk electoral district.

He served as an advisor to two prime ministers: Yukhym Zvyahilskyi and Vitaliy Masola.
