China expressed concern that the war in Ukraine is ongoing, and a large amount of weaponry, whose destructive and deadly power is continuously increasing, is being delivered to the combat zone. At the same time, China denied facilitating aggression by Russia.

This was stated by the Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the UN, Geng Shuang, during a UN Security Council meeting. He was quoted by Ukrinform.

"The crisis continues, and there is no end to the war in sight. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition continuously arrives on the battlefield, causing new casualties and infrastructure damage. We are concerned about the increasing variety and assortment of weapons, as well as their enhanced lethality and destructive power," stated the Chinese representative.

The Chinese diplomat drew attention to reports that "both sides have deployed combat robots on the battlefield." According to him, this once again indicates that the war in Ukraine is increasingly becoming "a testing ground for new weapons," and the emergence of new methods of warfare could lead to dangerous developments.

Shuang also stated that from "the first day of the war," China has advocated for peaceful resolution of disputes without the use of weapons. He claimed that Beijing has allegedly "actively worked in favor of peace" during this time.

He also denied the US accusations regarding China supplying critical technologies to Russia that it uses to continue its aggression. Shuang stated that Beijing has allegedly never supplied weapons to any party in the conflict and has "strictly controlled" the export of dual-use goods.

The Chinese representative emphasized that China maintains normal trade relations with both Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, he stated that Russia is not under UN Security Council sanctions, so China does not violate international law by developing trade with Moscow.
