In Vinnytsia, the police have initiated a criminal case regarding the attempted seizure of a government institution. Five men, aged between 21 and 33, have been detained.

This was reported to Suspilne by the regional police spokesperson, Zarina Mayevska.

"Some of those present damaged the gate and entered the premises. To disperse the crowd and prevent further breaches of public order, the law enforcement officers used special means," noted Zarina Mayevska.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 341 (seizure of state buildings or structures) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (CCU).

What is known about the conflict

In Vinnytsia, around 11:00 PM on August 1st, citizens gathered near the local stadium demanding the release of men who, according to them, were being held there.

People started gathering after a video stream appeared online showing a crowd demanding the release of men allegedly detained there. The video also captured people trying to force their way through a door, chanting "Come out, guys!", while law enforcement officers were making arrests.
