NABU vs OP: anti-corruption officials demanded explanations from Zelenskyy for the arrest of detectives

The heads of NABU and SAPO, during a meeting with Zelenskyy on Saturday, asked the president to either release the Bureau’s detained detectives or publicly explain the charges against them, reports UP, citing sources.

The meeting took place over the weekend following the arrest of district administration head Haidai and MP Kuznyetsov, which Zelenskyy called a "report" by anti-corruption agencies.

It should be noted that currently, two NABU employees, Viktor Husarov and Ruslan Magamedrasulov, are in custody. The latter, according to the media, was involved in a case concerning one of Zelensky’s closest associates, Tymur Mindich (including the surveillance of his apartment, where the president often stayed).

The SSU also claims a possible connection between one of NABU’s key detectives, Oleksandr Skomarov (who led the case against former Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshov), and MP Fedor Khrystenko, who is suspected of collaborating with Russian intelligence services. Specifically, it is reported that during the war, Skomarov’s family left for abroad in a car that belongs to Khrystenko’s wife. Skomarov, in a comment to the media, claims that he is not acquainted with Khristenko and the car situation is a "coincidental occurrence" (according to Skomarov, they merely arranged with the driver for a cross-border trip, unaware of who owned the car).

A few days ago, the SSU already approached Khrystenko and tried to obtain testimony against NABU detectives.

It should be noted that recently, a support group for NABU and SAPO (which includes "Ukrainska Pravda," owned by Tomash Fiala) initiated a campaign calling for the release of NABU detectives.
