In Ukraine, over 800 decisions of the MSEC regarding the assignment of disability status to officials have been canceled

At the moment, 2,630 medical cases of officials from over 70 state bodies are being reviewed.

This was reported by the Director of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), Oleksiy Sukhachov.

"At the initiative of the SBI, following the reviews, over 800 MSEC decisions on granting disability status to law enforcement officers and state body employees have already been canceled," noted Sukhachov.

How many officials’ cases are being reviewed

According to him, more than 70 state bodies and 2,630 medical-expert cases of officials are currently under review.

"Nearly 2,000 cases have already been examined. Of these, over 800 decisions were canceled as unfounded, and in more than 400 cases, the disability group or duration was adjusted. Almost 100 officials have been summoned for additional examinations," clarified the SBI Director.

He reminded that the reviews are being conducted within the framework of a criminal proceeding and in accordance with the decision of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) dated October 22, 2024, enacted by a Presidential Decree.

"For this purpose, an interagency working group comprising representatives of the SBI, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and other law enforcement agencies was established, which approved an action plan in November of last year," said Sukhachov.

The SBI Director emphasized that fictitious disability status was often obtained to receive corresponding pensions and to avoid potential military conscription.

"The largest number of officials whose disability status was canceled are from the State Customs and Tax Services, the prosecutor’s office, and law enforcement agencies," he noted.

"The work continues," added Sukhachov.
