Billions in compensation and NATO membership: Kyiv announces plan to end the war
Politico has published conditions for ending the war that Ukraine may announce to Trump over the phone today.
- Long-term ceasefire before any territorial exchange

"If Kyiv ultimately has to make some compromise as part of a final agreement based on the real situation on the front lines, it will only discuss territorial issues after Russia agrees to a ceasefire and adheres to it," a source "familiar with the situation" told the publication.
- Russia must pay Ukraine between 500 billion and 1 trillion dollars for human and material losses;

- Security guarantees

"Ukraine sees membership in NATO and the European Union as the only long-term measure to prevent a new Russian attack. Ukraine also rejects Moscow’s demands to reduce its current army of 900,000 soldiers — the largest in Europe after Russia — and to demand that allies stop supplying weapons."
- Children and prisoners of war must return home

Ukraine claims that nearly 20,000 Ukrainian children have been abducted by Russia, and only 1,453 have been returned.
- Sanctions must remain in place

"Kyiv and its European allies intend to continue applying this pressure, warning that lifting primary and secondary sanctions and resuming trade would allow Moscow to regroup for a new attack and complete the takeover of Ukraine. They will also try to convince Trump that the threat of new US sanctions will force Putin to engage in more substantive negotiations."
