"The territories will remain Ukrainian de jure": Podolyak on a possible scenario of freezing the conflict

Ukraine acknowledges the factual occupation of its territories but not legally, and intends to seek their liberation without the use of military force, reported Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the Presidential Office.

"Ukraine’s current position is as follows: we understand that one of the main options for ending this war is freezing the conflict along the front line. This concerns the territories that are currently factually occupied by Russia. They will remain in this status. Subsequently, extensive work must be carried out using economic, diplomatic, and other tools to return these territories to Ukraine. However, legally, they will remain Ukrainian," Podolyak emphasized in an interview with La Repubblica.
