The Dnipro Court has allowed an investigation in absentia against the thief-in-law Irakli Kalichava
The Industrial District Court of Dnipro has authorized a special pre-trial investigation (in absentia) regarding a suspect in spreading criminal influence in detention facilities (Part 3 of Article 255-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), a 44-year-old native of Sukhumi, stateless person Irakli Kalichava, who is known in the status of a so-called thief in law under the nicknames "Khutu"/"Irakli Khutu"/"Ika Sukhumsky". The corresponding decision was made on July 28, 2025, by Judge Iryna Drebot.
This is reported by Detective-Info.
This concerns the story of a tumultuous conflict resolution among several respected authorities and "overseers" in the Dnipropetrovsk region, into which, in May 2024, two representatives of the highest caste of the criminal world decided to intervene - thieves in law "Khutu" and "Omar Ufymskyi" (Omar Bekayev).
In the investigation titled "Requiem for ’Morda’", official suspicions for the respective actions were issued in absentia to the "thieves" at the end of February 2025. Shortly thereafter, Kalichava’s profile appeared on the official portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the list of wanted persons.

According to the court materials, it is known that since March 24, 2025, "Ika Sukhumskyi" was declared wanted internationally and arrested in absentia at the request of Ukrainian law enforcement. Attempts by the criminal general’s lawyers to have the suspicion against him canceled and to appeal the "preventive measure" proved futile. At the beginning of July, the episode concerning Kalichava was separated into a distinct proceeding.
