Sybiha responded to Szijjarto: "The President of Ukraine does not need instructions from Budapest"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto, who urged Ukraine to follow Europe’s example in diversifying energy supplies and becoming independent from Russia.

«I will respond in Hungarian. There is no need to tell the Ukrainian president what to do or say and when. He is the president of Ukraine, not Hungary», — Sybiha wrote in his statement.

Earlier, Szijjarto emphasized that Hungary’s energy security depends on decisions made by Ukraine, calling for some coordination. The response from the Ukrainian minister underscores Kyiv’s independence in decision-making and its defence of sovereignty in foreign policy matters.
