Ireland is ready to join in guaranteeing Ukraine’s security after the war, - Zelenskyy

Ireland is ready to contribute to ensuring Ukraine’s security after the end of the war with Russia.

This was reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on Telegram.

As Zelenskyy noted, today he held a conversation with the Prime Minister of Ireland, Micheál Martin.

In particular, he thanked Ireland for its assistance in setting up shelters in Ukrainian schools.

"Thanks to this, even more of our schoolchildren can study offline and stay safe. We also discussed assistance with funding to provide students with free meals. We agreed to explore opportunities," the President stated.

The leaders also discussed efforts to establish security guarantees for Ukraine.

"The involvement of all partners is very important to us. Ireland is ready to make its contribution to ensuring security. We also share the same view on the need to increase pressure on Russia, including through the introduction of secondary sanctions," Zelenskyy added.

He emphasized the need to do everything possible "so that Moscow finally feels that this war is truly costly for them."

Only in this way, according to the Ukrainian President, will Russians start thinking about "how to end what they themselves started."

"We greatly appreciate Ireland’s support for our European future and its clear position that Ukraine and Moldova should move together in the negotiation process," Zelenskyy added.
