Germany will arm Ukraine: 500 IFVs annually and funding for the Air Force

Germany will fund a large-scale expansion of Ukraine’s air force and annually supply nearly 500 infantry fighting vehicles, — The Telegraph.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during a meeting of the «Coalition of the Willing,» announced plans for security guarantees that include commitments to arm five new brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This will involve supplying Kyiv with 480 infantry fighting vehicles each year.

However, Berlin has not made any firm commitments regarding the deployment of its own peacekeeping troops to Ukraine.

Germany also proposes to increase the capabilities of Ukrainian air defense by 20% annually and to cooperate on the production of cruise missiles in Ukraine.

The ultimate goal of the allies — to turn Ukraine into a «steel porcupine» that Russia will fear to attack in the future.
