An action against bills restricting the rights of military personnel has started in Kyiv

A protest action begins on Independence Square in Kyiv against draft laws that increase the liability of military personnel for disobedience to command and for unauthorized abandonment of their unit (UAU).

The organizers state that the new legislative initiatives effectively eliminate a mechanism for transferring soldiers to other units after UAU and force them to return to the same conditions they left. Additionally, the protesters note that the draft law restricts the powers of courts in mitigating punishments for disobedience, which, in their opinion, is unacceptable during wartime.

The participants of the action emphasize the importance of adopting a law on a military ombudsman, who would serve as a tool for protecting the rights of military personnel, and call on the authorities to stop the practice of "tightening the screws" in the army.
