Zelenskyy: Ukrainian interceptor drones shot down over 150 targets this night
On the night of September 7, Ukrainian interceptor drones destroyed over one and a half hundred enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.
This was reported in a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President noted that on the night of September 7, Russia deployed over 400 Shahed-type drones, with the total number of aerial attack means in this strike amounting to 810.
Almost half of these drones were intended to complicate the air situation and overload Ukraine’s air defense systems.
According to Zelenskyy, missiles, including ballistic ones, were also used. The head of state emphasized that a significant portion of the enemy attacks was successfully neutralized, which he considers a substantial achievement.
"There are results regarding interceptor drones: over one and a half hundred interceptions this night. Electronic warfare units, army aviation, mobile fire groups, Air Force fighters, and anti-aircraft gunners also performed well," he stressed.
Zelenskyy thanked the air defence forces and added that, despite the successes, not everything was destroyed. The President underscored the need for further strengthening of air defense, which remains a priority task for Ukraine.
