Law enforcement officers detained a retired sailor who was preparing terrorist attacks in Odesa
In Odesa, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who was manufacturing explosives for detonations in the port city. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
This was reported on the Telegram channel of the SSU.
It is known that the Russian agent left incendiary devices in hiding places along the sea coast and transmitted their coordinates to the FSB. The latter sent the corresponding geolocations to the direct perpetrators of the terrorist attacks, who retrieved the explosive devices from the hiding places.
One of these terrorists was detained by Ukrainian special services in July of this year when she attempted to blow up a regional military enlistment office in Odesa.
According to the case materials, the detained agent, who was involved in manufacturing explosives, turned out to be a 60-year-old Odesa resident who had previously worked as a sailor on a merchant ship. He began collaborating with the enemy after retiring.

The recruitment of the Odesa resident took place when he was staying with his sister in Russia at the beginning of the full-scale war. On the instructions of the FSB, the man later returned to Odesa via third countries.
Upon arriving in Ukraine, the agent initially carried out "test" tasks from his handler - reporting on the consequences of attacks on the city.
Later, he was taught how to manufacture explosives and identify "priority" locations for placing them in hiding spots.
According to the investigation, the suspect "enhanced" the explosive devices with metal nuts and bolts and equipped them with mobile phones for remote detonation.
The Security Service documented the agent’s crimes and detained him at his place of residence. A smartphone, which he used to communicate with the FSB, was seized from him.
The Odesa resident was charged under Part 3 of Article 15 and Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted terrorist act).
Currently, the offender is in custody. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
