Head of the Ukrainian Government Yuliya Svyrydenko, along with ministers, informed 60 heads of diplomatic missions about the consequences of the Russian shelling and showed the floors of the Cabinet of Ministers building damaged by the attack.
"Together with Ihor Klymenko and Andriy Sybiha, we informed 60 heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine about the consequences of one of the largest air attacks by Russia since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. We showed the floors of the Cabinet of Ministers building damaged by the Russian attack. Currently, the aftermath is being addressed, and work to repair the roof will begin soon," - wrote Svyrydenko on her Telegram channel.
According to Svyrydenko, yesterday’s attack marks a new stage of the war for Ukraine, as the enemy has effectively doubled the number of "Shahed" drones during strikes on civilians and energy infrastructure ahead of winter, and is now also attempting to target state institutions.
"This is a clear signal that Russia does not seek peace and openly disregards the diplomatic efforts of the civilized world. This is an existential war. Among those killed yesterday were a two-year-old child and a young mother. Russians are killing our children, and thus our future. We are grateful to all diplomats; your presence here this morning is a sign of support for us in our fight for the existence of our state," she wrote.
As later noted by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, a briefing was held for foreign diplomats, where the main focus was not on the government building, but on the destruction and casualties caused by the recent massive Russian attack across Ukraine, including Kyiv, Sumy, Kremenchuk, Odesa, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Zaporizhzhya.
"We emphasized to our foreign colleagues that with such barbaric attacks, Russia rejects peaceful efforts and diplomacy. Therefore, to achieve peace, it is necessary to strengthen sanctions against Moscow and bolster Ukraine. I am grateful to all foreign diplomats who condemned Russian terror and confirmed their governments’ readiness to take concrete steps to support our country and counter Moscow," - he wrote on the social network X.
