Queues at the Ukraine-Poland border: over 150 cars waiting at "Shehyni"

At the border of Ukraine and Poland in the Lviv region, queues and traffic delays are being recorded. The most difficult situation is observed at the "Shehyni" checkpoint, where dozens of vehicles are accumulating.

About this reports State Border Guard Service on the Telegram network.

The situation at the border in the Lviv region is accompanied by significant delays for vehicles.

At the "Shehyni" checkpoint, around 150 vehicles are waiting to pass through control. At "Krakovets," about 20 vehicles have accumulated, while at "Nyzhankovychi," a queue of 10 cars is recorded. Meanwhile, at the "Smolnytsia," "Uhryniv," "Hrushiv," and "Rava-Ruska" checkpoints, traffic is moving without interruptions.

According to Ukrainian and Polish services, the increase in processing time is linked to several factors. In particular, the Polish side has started testing a new biometric system. It involves mandatory facial scanning and fingerprinting when crossing the border in both directions. These procedures take more time and may cause delays in the passage of citizens.

An additional complication is the ongoing repair work on the Ukrainian side of the "Shehyni" checkpoint. Due to the reconstruction, the throughput capacity has been temporarily reduced, which complicates the passage of both passenger cars and trucks.
