Unilateral cessation of airstrikes: Zelenskyy initiates de-escalation

Zelenskyy called for a «unilateral ceasefire» in the air following today’s massive shelling of Ukraine.

«A unilateral ceasefire in the sky is possible, and it could be the first step toward real diplomacy. America and Europe must take action to force Putin to stop,» Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel.

However, he did not specify what is meant by a «unilateral ceasefire in the sky.» Does this imply that Ukraine or Russia should declare it independently? Or does Zelenskyy mean that the ceasefire would apply only in the air, while ground combat continues?
