Norway allocates an additional 1.5 billion kroner to Ukraine for energy support ahead of winter
Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Store announced the allocation of additional funds to provide Ukraine with electricity and heating ahead of winter.
He stated this during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo on October 22.
During the meeting with Zelenskyy, Støre announced that his country is allocating an additional 1.5 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately $98.3 million) to ensure electricity and heating for Ukraine.
"Norway provides strong support to Ukraine and will continue to do so. It is very important to maintain close dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities to ensure that the support meets the needs on the ground in Ukraine," – he emphasized.
The Norwegian Prime Minister also noted that contacts with Ukraine are currently close and regular, both directly with the President and with the leaders of the Ukrainian government.
"During the meeting [with Zelenskyy], I presented Norway’s plans for further support to Ukraine until 2026. I believe that support for Ukraine will remain strong," – Store emphasized.
