Anatoliy Urbanskyi – a typical representative of a "businessman" from the ’90s, turbulent times when the first capital was "earned" by "scamming" trusting citizens or parasitizing on the budget. The regions of Ukraine, of course, had long been divided, and the Urbanskyi clan seized control of the south.

Ihor Urbanskyi was a People’s Deputy of the 5th convocation from the socialists, so the fate of both sons – Oleksandr and Anatoliy – was somewhat predetermined. Anatoliy Urbanskyi began his career in private firms engaged in investment activities but confidently moved toward the political summit, as his father’s experience suggested that big money was there.

He began his career as a public figure in 2014, fortunately, the time was restless and contributed to the redistribution of assets. It is said that Urbanskyi skillfully took over the management of property that remained after the escape of the Yanukovych clan and the young oligarch Serhiy Kurchenko.

Some sources claim that Anatoliy Urbanskyi was involved in the so-called diamond prosecutors case. However, he was not held accountable for aiding corrupt officials due to his influential father.

The politician is a figure in cases opened against him by the State Bureau of Investigation, and the investigation suggests that during his time in public service, Anatoliy Urbanskyi was involved in multimillion-dollar embezzlement. Indeed, even according to official declarations, from 2015 to 2018, his income sharply increased from 253 thousand UAH to 2.5 million UAH. The politician, it seems, was so confident in his impunity that he didn’t even consider it necessary to hide it.

The whole family led a "star-studded" life. In 2016, his wife bought a Bentley, which she drove into an Odesa tram, and also became the owner of a Cartier brand bracelet.

As incomes grew, the number of real estate objects increased. Its current total value is estimated at over 1 million dollars.

During three years in power, Urbanskyi "earned" over 9 million hryvnias, a separate story is the acquisition of cryptocurrency valued, when converted to the national currency, at 500 million to 1.2 billion UAH. The origin of such a large sum is traditionally unexplained by the MP.

However, law enforcement agencies suspect that the money was stolen from state funds allocated for repair work in the Izmail district, which, incidentally, is still headed by his protégé Nataliya Todorova.

The Urbanskyi family owns property rights to the Czech company Odess&UR, which has real estate registered in Kysyuk and Karlovy Vary. At the same time, Urbanskyi himself exhibits incredible greed and pettiness. Even as a People’s Deputy, he decided to take advantage of taxpayers’ money, which he does not pay himself, as all his companies are taken offshore. In particular, he receives compensation for rent of 18,200 UAH per month. Meanwhile, he lives in an apartment valued at 14 million hryvnias and feels protected from any encroachment by law enforcement agencies thanks to his deputy badge.

Urbanskyi considers the planned repairs of kindergartens and the construction of playgrounds, carried out at taxpayers’ expense, as the result of his "selfless" struggle for his region.

He simply does not have time for more in his pursuit of his own well-being, which is why Anatoliy Urbanskyi is a rare guest at parliamentary sessions, mostly absent or simply not voting. And this situation suits him perfectly.

According to the "Opora" website, among the bills that Anatoliy Urbanskyi never voted for is the document on electoral reform proposing a proportional electoral system with open lists. This is entirely logical – why change anything when everything is going well – the next generation of the political dynasty is growing, and as long as there is a supply of buckwheat and administrative resources, the domain will not be surrendered.

As it is known, Urbanskyi has now joined the "For the Future" party, which has gathered the most notorious figures: Yaroslav Dubnevych – the embodiment of corruption in embroidery, a virtuoso sycophant under any regime, Oleksandr Hereha, a fan of scheme-collections Anton Yatsenko, and many other no less "worthy" people.
