Situation at the front: the enemy launched 2 missile and 120 air strikes

During the day on May 5, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded 125 clashes at the front. Ukrainian soldiers repel numerous Russian attacks in seven directions

This is stated in the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Shelling of Ukraine

The enemy launched 2 missile and 120 air strikes, carried out 89 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are deaths and injuries among the civilian population. A number of high-rise buildings and other civil infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

At night, the Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine - they used 13 Shahed-type UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces and means destroyed 12 of these attack UAVs.

Over the last day, the following localities were hit by air strikes: Hremyach in Chernihiv region; Synkivka, Vesele, Bilyi Kolodyaz, Doroshivka in Kharkiv region and Kharkiv city; Spirne, Diliyivka, Vovche, Novosadove, Volodymyrivka, Kalynove, Paraskoviivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Lysychne, Semenivka, Illinka, Novoselivka Persha, Karlivka, Umanske, Novooleksandrivka, Progress, Halytsynivka, Yevhenivka, Yelizavetivka, Urozhayne and Staromayorske in Donetsk region; Robotyne in Zaporizhzhya region; Krynky in Kherson region.

More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Situation in the north

The operational situation remains unchanged in the Volyn and Polissya sectors.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border.

Fighting in the east

In the Kupyansk sector, our troops repelled 14 attacks in the vicinity of Sinkivka, Pishchane, Berestove in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 6 times near Nevske, Luhansk region; Novosadove and Torske, Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, our troops repelled 36 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, Klishchiyivka, Vyymka, Novyi, Rozdolivka, Ivanivske and Andriivka, Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 31 attacks in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Novopokrovske, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka and Netaylove in Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Krasnohorivka, Vodyane and Urozhayne in Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defences of our troops 27 times.

Situation in the south

In the Orikhivsk sector, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 6 times near Staromayorske in Donetsk region and Robotyno in Zaporizhzhya.

In the Kherson sector, the enemy has not abandoned its intention to drive our units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, over the past day, Russian occupants made three unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops.

Strikes at the enemy

Our soldiers continue to actively inflict damage on the occupying forces in manpower and equipment, depleting the enemy along the entire line of combat.

Over the past 24 hours, Defense Forces aircraft have carried out strikes on 13 areas where enemy personnel are concentrated and 4 anti-aircraft missile systems.

The missile force units hit 1 personnel concentration area, 3 radar stations, 2 air defense systems, 2 artillery weapons and 3 other important enemy targets.
