The Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the assault on the village of Sokil, west of Avdiivka

Earlier, German military observer Julian Röpke said that Russian troops had entered the village.

The General Staff does not directly indicate this, but writes that the village is being attacked in three areas.

“The hottest place (in the Pokrovsk direction - Ed.) is now in the area of the village of Sokil, Donetsk region - fighting continues there in three locations,” the General Staff reports in a daily report.

According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians are attacking most intensively in the Pokrovsk direction.

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defence claims to have repelled a Ukrainian counterattack in the Sokil area. Z-publics add that after this Russian attacks on Sokol resumed.

The Bild newspaper analyzes video from the Sokil area.

It shows “six Russian soldiers moving in tight formation from the village of Novobakhmutivka to Solovyove, west of Avdiivka. They walk across an open field, but are not fired upon by artillery. Only one of them is seriously wounded by a Ukrainian kamikaze drone. <...> Because of near Solovyove, the Russians are advancing further west to the village of Sokil. The first battles have already broken out on its eastern outskirts. This village has been successfully defended by the 47th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for several weeks.”
