The occupiers increased the number of protective barges near the Crimean Bridge
Russian occupiers continue to strengthen the defense of the Crimean Bridge from attacks by Ukrainian naval drones. The number of protective barges near it increased by one and a half times, and structures similar to piers also appeared under the crossing itself.
The latter are mounted in several places at the base of the bridge. The Center for Investigative Journalism reports this.
They noted that the process of the enemy’s arrangement of the Crimean Bridge defense system has been going on for more than a month - now the occupiers are putting up a second line of booms. Sentinel-2 satellite images from June 16 confirmed that the Russians have already installed 21 barges in the Kerch Strait to protect against Ukrainian attacks.
On May 22, 2024, work began on the construction of five piers at the base of the Crimean Bridge on the two banks of Tuzla Island and on the Tuzla Spit from the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. As of June 16, 2024, the largest of the berths was approximately 190 meters long, and the smallest was almost 80 meters long.
