Podolyak responded to Orban’s proposal for a ceasefire

“Extremely interesting proposals: Ukraine should immediately and unilaterally cease fire (sarcasm). Especially, of course, stop strikes with long-range weapons and especially on the occupied territory and the border Russian Federation. Russia can continue to strike,” he said.

Podolyak recalled that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had repeatedly stated that the attacks would continue, insisting that even if the negotiation process began, no one would stop the attacks on Ukrainian territory.

“What does all this mean? Simple as shelling pears. Russia is literally asking, through strange intermediaries, for the return of an informal decision on a ban... for Ukraine on defensive strikes. In order to continue in silence to pull resources to the border, prepare new large-scale attacks, and not lose air defense systems and equipment... Simple and primitive. Even simpler and more primitive,” he said.

At the same time, Podolyak raised the question of the seriousness of these proposals.

“The question is rhetorical: how to understand the people participating in the campaign to force the country that was attacked to a unilateral ceasefire... And most importantly: are these proposals being made seriously and will they really lead to the end of the war?” he added.
