Ukrzaliznytsia purchased diesel for half a billion from Gazprom partner Socar
Ukrainians are calling for a boycott of the filling stations of the Azerbaijani Socar company due to the fact that the latter cooperates with the Russian monopoly Gazprom.
Ukrzaliznytsia has signed a contract for the purchase of diesel fuel with the Azerbaijani oil refining giant Socar. This event took place against the backdrop of another, no less significant one: Socar, in turn, signed a contract for the "expansion of strategic partnership" with Russia’s Gazprom.
It is worth noting that recently pro-Kremlin media outlets pompously reported that SOCAR had signed a new, larger contract with Gazprom, and this happened just before Putin’s visit to Azerbaijan.
And when the Ukrainian public learned that Ukrzaliznytsia had signed a contract with Socar to purchase diesel fuel for 529 million hryvnia, serious indignation arose among the people.
"It is surprising that no one in the Cabinet of Ministers or the managers of Ukrzaliznytsia has any questions. But it seems that the management of the state company should be reminded what the concept of "patriotism" means," Ukrainian media write.
