Occupants attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones: how many were shot down by air defence forces

On the night of August 22-23, 2024, Russian invaders once again attacked Ukraine with "shaheds" and missiles. Ukrainian air defence forces managed to shoot down almost all targets.

The Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, reported this on Telegram .

It is noted that the enemy attacked with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region and 16 Shahed-type strike UAVs (launch areas - Russian Yeysk and Kursk).

"As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire teams of the Ukrainian Defence Forces shot down 14 "shahids". Another two were lost in location, no information about damage was received," the statement said.

The Russian attacks took place over the territories of Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Sumy regions.
