Denmark was ready to provide F-16s to the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the beginning of the war, - Prime Minister
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has confirmed that Denmark does not impose restrictions on the use of F-16 fighter jets that were transferred to Ukraine.
She stated this at the GLOBSEC conference in Prague, the correspondent reports
Mette Frederiksen believes that Ukraine received Western fighters later than it should have.
"I am sorry that the delivery of F-16s took so long. Personally, I was ready to transfer them to Ukraine from the very beginning of the war. However, there was a long discussion about whether this was the right decision," she noted.
Frederiksen did not specify who exactly was delaying the delivery of the aircraft, but expressed confidence that the task remains to provide Ukraine with all the necessary weapons from the West.
"It is impossible to win without weapons. And the only way to win is to give the Ukrainians what they need," she emphasized.
Frederiksen also confirmed that there are no restrictions on the use of the weapons provided, including aircraft, from Denmark.
"We do not impose restrictions on the use of the F-16, the only thing is that international law must be observed. Otherwise, there are no restrictions on use," she explained.
