The general contractor of the "Great Construction" is suspected of damages amounting to 1 billion hryvnias

The National Police confirmed searches at LLC «Avtomagistral-Pivden», founded by the Vice President of the National Association of Road Workers of Ukraine, Oleksandr Boyko.

This information became known from the statement by the National Police.

The issue concerns losses amounting to 1 billion hryvnias! The company is suspected of violating tender procedures and unilaterally setting prices for work costs in various regions of Ukraine. The management of the «Great Construction» general contractor, by creating an `artificial` markup in the supply chain of goods and materials, unlawfully increased the cost of goods, entered false data into the work completion reports, thereby causing significant damage to the state budget — amounting to over a billion hryvnias.

Urgent searches at the places of work and residence of the company’s officials were conducted due to the receipt of operational information about the possible destruction of documents that evidence criminal activities. During the searches, documents and digital media with content useful for the investigation were seized.

A series of construction and technical expert examinations have been appointed to determine the real cost of materials, work, and services provided by this business entity. The activity of the company is not blocked, and it continues to operate in a regular mode. The investigation is ongoing within the framework of proceedings initiated under Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Fraud committed in particularly large amounts or by an organized group) and Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Legalization of property obtained by criminal means by an organized group in particularly large amounts). It should be noted that Boyko’s brother was relieved from criminal liability for tax evasion.
