Shooting of Selydove residents: Prosecutor General’s Office has launched an investigation

On October 27, information appeared in several Telegram channels about the murder of civilians in the city of Selydove by the occupiers.

"The distributed video recorded how representatives of the state-aggressor’s troops allegedly shot at a civilian car with automatic weapons in the settlement. During the attack, there were two citizens in the cabin, one of whom was injured," the Office reported.

After that, the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine arrived at the scene and, having dragged the wounded from the line of fire, provided him with first aid and evacuated civilians from under fire. According to preliminary data, this happened on October 24.

Not an isolated case

Moreover, according to media reports, the enemy shot two women in the city. Also, as reported by online sources, in the area of the private sector, which practically did not suffer from active hostilities, the bodies of dead civilians are located.

"That is, these murders occurred, preliminarily, after the opponent took control of these territories. Emergency investigative and search actions are currently being conducted to establish all the circumstances of the events and identify the victims of the occupiers," the prosecutors noted.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted in criminal proceedings for violations of the laws and customs of war (part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
