The State Bureau of Investigation has announced suspicion against a leading engineer of one of the branches of a state enterprise—according to the investigation, he is accused of issuing fake exemptions for conscripted men.

A law enforcement sector interlocutor told journalists that it concerns one of the enterprises of Energoatom, and the company has not yet commented on this situation.

The SBI claims: the suspect had access to orders from the Ministry of Economy, based on which decisions regarding exemptions were made; he manufactured fake extracts from these documents and inserted false data, claiming that his "clients" supposedly work at various state enterprises of critical infrastructure and allegedly have the right to a six-month deferment.

Law enforcement officers also allege that the man forged documents concerning the classification of enterprises as critically important and regarding the exemption of their employees.

Officially, the SBI states that the detained man works at a branch of a state enterprise that is part of the critical infrastructure in the energy sector. An interlocutor informed that it concerns one of the enterprises of Energoatom—the editorial office has sent an information request to the national company and will publish its stance as soon as a response is received.

Law enforcement officers established that documents concerning employees of 12 enterprises were forged in total—454 citizens, and the cost of such a "service" ranged from $200 to $2000 depending on the complexity.

The documents manufactured by the suspect were used during the inspection of military registration documents, entered into the State Register of conscripts, military obligators, and reservists, and were also used in the case of crossing the border, adds the SBI.

Law enforcement officers note that 20 searches were conducted, during which computers, data carriers, forged documents, and lists of individuals who used the illegal scheme were seized.

The agency emphasizes: such machinations harmed the lawful activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations during martial law—he has been charged under the relevant article accordingly.

He faces a maximum of eight years of imprisonment.

The investigation is ongoing to identify other citizens and legal entities for whom documents were forged, and law enforcement is also checking the possible involvement of other individuals, including officials from ministries and district military enlistment offices, in the scheme.
