High-ranking EU officials have arrived in Kyiv
The President of the European Council António Costa and the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas unexpectedly arrived in the capital of Ukraine.
The President of the European Council António Costa, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas, and the Commissioner for EU Enlargement Marta Kos arrived in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, on an official visit.
Costa announced this on the social network X on the morning of Sunday, December 1.
"From day one of the war, the EU has stood by the side of Ukraine," he wrote. "From the start of our mandate, we reaffirm our unwavering support for the Ukrainian people."
In Kyiv, a meeting is scheduled between the senior EU officials and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as with members of the government, parliament, and civil society representatives.
The visit of Costa, Kallas, and Kos to Kyiv began a few hours after they assumed office. The composition of the new European Commission was approved on November 27.
