Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, and Olaf Scholz, the Chancellor of Germany, reviewed in Kyiv modern equipment samples with systems for automatic detection and targeting, including UAVs, FPV drones, ground robotic complexes, and a "drone swarm" control system.
This was reported by the Office of the President on Monday, December 2, reported the Office of the President.
At the exhibition, the politicians were presented with Ukrainian drones, as well as those developed in cooperation with German companies. One of the drones contains auto-targeting systems with artificial intelligence developed by German manufacturers.
Another UAV is the result of the work of a localized German company that has opened a production and service center in Ukraine for the already deployed technologies, noted the Office of the President.
Military analyst Yigal Levin noted that the drones are Ukrainian analogs of the Russian "Shaheds" and "Lancets".
"The forms may be similar — physics is the same for everyone, and as I’ve said many times, creating flying devices of this type — is not a problem. These are technologies of the last century. The real challenge — is the internal components and mass production," — he emphasized.
Manufacturers familiarized Zelenskyy and Scholz with the technical characteristics of the air and ground unmanned systems and discussed the features of their operation.
Examples of the combat use of Ukrainian attack means equipped with computer vision systems, automatic targeting, and retargeting systems were demonstrated to the leaders.
On December 2, the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, made an unexpected visit to Kyiv for the first time in two and a half years. On the same day, Scholz announced the preparation of a military aid package for Ukraine worth 650 million euros.
Scholz last visited Ukraine in June 2022, along with Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, and Mario Draghi, the then Prime Minister of Italy.
