The leader of the "DPR" Denis Pushilin claims that the youth of the "republic" have the opportunity to acquire apartments through a mortgage.

He announced this on his Telegram channel.

"This is a real gift for the ’republic’, and of course, I am now working at all levels to find ways to accelerate construction. Because both Donetsk and Makiivka must be actively developed so that high-quality affordable housing appears, and the youth can take this mortgage," he said.

Pushilin emphasized that considering the increase in living standards and salaries, a mortgage at 2% per annum is extremely beneficial. People have the opportunity to take advantage of this option.

This statement by Pushilin is manipulative in nature. Currently, only 400 people have taken advantage of the preferential mortgage. The occupiers acknowledge that this offer is mainly used by residents of Russia, as the interest rate in the Russian Federation reaches 30%. For local residents, apartments costing from 6 million rubles are often inaccessible even at a 2% mortgage rate.
