Zelenskyy appointed Andriy Melnyk as the representative of Ukraine to the UN

Zelenskyy appointed Andriy Melnyk as Ukraine’s representative to the UN, who became known during his work as an ambassador to Germany when he called Chancellor Scholz a "sulking liverwurst."

The president announced this appointment in his evening address.

Additionally, he appointed journalist and activist Alyona Hrytsmanchuk as Ukraine’s representative to NATO, and Nariman Dzhelyal, who is the deputy head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis and was exchanged with Russia this summer (detained in Crimea in 2021), as ambassador to Turkey.

In total, he appointed 30 new ambassadors.
