Zelenskyy approved the law on the disbandment of the MSEC starting next year

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law according to which the medical and social expert commissions (MSECs) will be dissolved from January 1, 2025.

In their place, new expert commissions will be established in hospitals, which will address issues of disability determination and health assessment of citizens.

The main goal of the reform is to improve the quality of medical services and expedite the process of obtaining disability status for citizens. The expert commissions will operate based in healthcare institutions, which will enhance the accessibility and transparency of procedures.

As explained by the Ministry of Social Policy, the new commissions will include specialists from various fields who will be able to conduct examinations more accurately and promptly.

It is expected that such changes will improve the quality of service and reduce bureaucratic delays in the process of obtaining disability status.
