The former Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Takhtay, was served with a notice of suspicion by NABU and SAPO
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have announced suspicion against a former high-ranking official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
This information was reported by the press service of the SAPO on Telegram.
According to "Word and Deed," it is about the former state secretary of the ministry, Oleksiy Takhtay. Law enforcement officials exposed him for embezzling millions of funds and receiving undue benefits.
It is claimed that in 2020, the official ensured a predetermined company won a tender for the procurement of equipment for video surveillance and access control to be installed in the buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The cost of the equipment was significantly inflated, causing damage to the state amounting to 16 million UAH.
According to law enforcement, the head of this company provided Takhtay with four premium-class cars for free use through a public organization during 2018-2019, with a total value of over 6 million UAH.
"The actions of the former official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been qualified under Part 5 of Article 191, Part 3 of Article" – stated the SAPO.
