Half of Ukraine’s natural resources are concentrated in the uncontrolled territories. Russia has already recouped the expenses of the invasion, said former commander-in-chief Viktor Muzhenko.

"I am talking, for example, about the volumes of natural resources that remain there. Today, this is about half of the resource base, mineral resources. Donetsk, Luhansk, parts of Zaporizhzhya region, and Kherson are approximately half of the whole resource base, mineral reserves of all Ukraine. It seems the total figure is 15 trillion! There were various estimates. There were more than 20, 25 trillion. Half of them are the regions that are currently occupied," said the general who led the army during Petro Poroshenko’s period.
