The SSU announced special operations in five regions of Ukraine, including in the Kharkiv region, as a result of which the organizers of local cells of the "Ukrainian Workers’ Front" were detained.

The organization, which the SSU described as pro-Kremlin, apparently operated according to early 20th-century methodologies.

"The offenders, under the guise of spreading neo-communist ideas, agitated Ukrainians to rise against the authorities and lay down their arms before the rashists," – stated the SSU press service.

Instead of "fighting for workers’ rights", the "Ukrainian Workers’ Front" was particularly concerned about mobilization issues in Ukraine.

"Among other things, the individuals urged citizens of conscription age to evade mobilization, and active military personnel not to follow their commanders’ orders and to commit desertion. They also suggested that Ukrainian defenders unite into so-called ’soldiers’ committees’ for collective refusal to participate in combat actions at the front," — the Security Service said.

The "neo-communists" spread their ideas not in the old way, through the newspaper "Iskra", but on social media, where more than 30,000 people subscribed to the association’s pages. They still paid homage to "Ilyich’s bequests" by pasting leaflets around city streets. The leaflets contained a QR code with their contacts and calls to disrupt the mobilization.

"Every day they covered no fewer than 30 addresses, placing ’agitational materials’ on bulletin boards or simply on the walls of buildings. For printing propaganda materials, they set up underground ’printing houses’ right in their homes," the SSU reported.

Suspected organizers of the movement’s cells were detained during special operations in the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Poltava regions.

"All those detained are local residents aged 20 to 32. Some of them are students, others are enterprise employees or unemployed individuals who acted under the coordination of a representative from the Russian Federation, the so-called ’trade union curator’ from Russia. During searches, a bulk of hostile materials, communist literature, computers, and mobile phones with evidence of crimes were found," — noted the Security Service of Ukraine.

Five of the detainees have already been notified of suspicion of obstructing the lawful activities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other military formations during a special period, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. Three are in pre-trial detention, while two "neo-communists" were released under house arrest with electronic bracelets. Other members of the organization are also being prepared to be brought to justice.
