The military expert explained the occupiers’ chances of encircling Pokrovsk
Russian occupation forces will try to encircle Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, but this will not happen due to their lack of resources.
This was reported by military-political analyst Oleksandr Kovalenko.
The expert explains that for the Russian army it is necessary to establish appropriate flanks and control the territory also from the north, to provide a security buffer for conducting the operation to encircle Pokrovsk:
"I do not see such a prospect today because the Russians simply do not have such resources."
Kovalenko suggested that in the near future the actions of the occupiers will be concentrated in the area of the E50 highway when the Russians reach this road and use it for advancement towards Pokrovsk. At the same time, they will encounter the Hryshynka River, which will serve as a line of defence and help avoid strikes from the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the north. He added that the Russians will limit their actions to intercepting Pokrovsk’s logistics and will not be able to encircle this city due to the lack of necessary resources for such a large-scale operation.
