Zelenskyy compared the Ukrainian and Russian armies: "We care about people"
The operation in the Kursk region was of great significance to prevent the occupation of Sumy and Kharkiv, to deliver a preemptive strike, and to create a buffer zone on the territory of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview for the British media ITV News, which was released by the Office of the President.
"Our fighters embarked on this extremely powerful operation. It was a success... It was important to show the whole world that what Putin is saying is untrue," he noted.
"The Russian army is replenished not with professional military personnel but with a large number of people whom they use as cannon fodder. Sixty thousand Russians were not enough in the Kursk region to push out our significantly smaller number of people. After all, their soldiers are not as capable. It was also important to demonstrate to the world that the Russian army is not as strong as it seems. We value people, and they do not," Zelenskyy stated.
