In Kyiv, on the Maidan, the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine was honored

Three years ago, on February 24, 2022, Russian invaders carried out a massive missile strike on Ukraine, launching a large-scale invasion. On the third anniversary of the great war, local residents and guests of the capital in Kyiv at Independence Maidan honor the memory of fallen Ukrainian defenders.

People bring flowers and light candles as a sign of eternal memory for those who gave their lives for the independence of Ukraine.

Hundreds of candles are burning here, and the stream of people does not stop. Adults and children, military personnel, Kyiv residents, and city guests come here. They set up candle lamps, kneeling as a sign of honoring the memory of the deceased.

Each flame is a memory of a Hero who selflessly fought for a peaceful and free Ukraine, giving his life for it.

Each lit candle is a symbol of the unity of Ukrainians, as well as support for the families of the fallen, an expression of respect for their sacrifice.
