Ukraine may face a weapons shortage in half a year, Kuleba says

In six months, Ukraine will start to run out of weapons, former Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.

«The strongest pressure factor from Trump on Ukraine is the threat to halt weapon supplies. In my opinion, we have six months left before we start experiencing a shortage of weapons at the front», — he said in an interview with Politico newspaper.

Kuleba did not specify whether this would be due to the cessation of current U.S. aid or if the aid packages authorized by Biden would run out in six months.

Ukrainian MP Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze also mentioned the six-month timeline.

«Europeans have a maximum of six months to take action», — the deputy noted, adding that Europe «simply does not have what the Americans do».

The publication also cites data from the Kiel Institute, according to which the Americans bore the largest share of Ukraine’s military expenses.

From February 2022 to the end of 2024, the U.S. allocated 64 billion euros for military support to Ukraine, while Europe, including the UK and Norway, provided nearly 62 billion euros.

Therefore, the cessation of American aid would significantly weaken the Ukrainian Armed Forces if the conflict continues.
