In the Kharkiv region, almost half a thousand fake disability assessments by the Medical-Social Expert Commission (MSEC) were canceled

The Security Service of Ukraine uncovered a large-scale scheme involving officials of the Kharkiv Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) who were issuing fake disability reports for those avoiding mobilization.

As a result of the investigation, nearly 500 of such fake documents, which allowed their holders to avoid conscription, receive "deferral," and benefit from social payments, were canceled.

According to investigative findings, bribes for obtaining forged certificates ranged from 2,000 to 5,000 US dollars. The criminal scheme involved not only MSEC employees but also medical professionals who enabled draft dodgers to receive fake disability conclusions.

The head of the regional MSEC and seven of his accomplices have already been detained and additional charges have been filed against them. All suspects are in custody. Investigative actions are currently ongoing, and the involvement of five more individuals in the criminal activity is being established.

According to law enforcement, during searches, over half a million US dollars, nearly 80,000 euros, more than 1 million hryvnias, and even Russian rubles were seized.

This incident is part of a broader network of fake medical documents that law enforcement uncovered in Kharkiv and the region. One of the suspects is a deputy of the local city council.
