U.S. Republican Senator Graham is convinced that the White House should "give Ukraine what they need" — from intelligence data to necessary weapons so that Kyiv can defend itself until peace negotiations begin.

U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham stated that Donald Trump’s actions to halt military aid and access to intelligence for Ukraine are "concerning." The politician stated this during a broadcast on Fox News.

The senator noted that as long as fighting continues in Ukraine, cutting off Ukraine from aid could create a situation "worse than Afghanistan."

"I don’t think President Trump has the desire to do that. But until there is a ceasefire, I would give Ukraine what they need, as well as intelligence and weapons to defend themselves," said the American senator.

Graham added that he spoke with Trump’s national security advisor Mike Waltz "a few days ago." According to the senator, Waltz told him that the goal of the United States is to "end the war honorably and justly."

At the same time, Graham is convinced that upcoming negotiations between the U.S. and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia will provide insight into "what a good deal looks like" from Kyiv’s perspective. The senator added that he plans to introduce a bill on sanctions against the Russian banking and energy sectors in the coming days.

"Regarding Russia, I will be introducing sanctions against their banking sector and energy next week to encourage them to come to the negotiating table. If they do not agree, we have to impose hellish sanctions on them [Russians. — Ed.]," Graham stated.
