The SBI is conducting searches at the Deputy Head of the HQCJ Omelyan in the case of Judge Tandyr

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is conducting searches at the deputy head of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJ), Oleksiy Omelyan.

According to the publication "Law and Business," the investigation suspects him of giving knowingly false testimony in the case of former judge of Makariv District Court of Kyiv Region, Oleksiy Tandyr, who is accused of a fatal traffic accident.

It should be reminded that Tandyr is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol when he hit a national guardsman at a checkpoint at high speed. According to the media, he was returning from a fishing trip with Omelyan that day.

Moreover, as "Law and Business" writes citing sources, the investigation is considering a version of the existence of an organized criminal group within the HQCJ, which is involved in selling judicial positions.
