Media: "Overseer of Kyiv" Komarnytskyi illegally crossed the border with Romania

Former Kyiv City Council deputy and businessman Denys Komarnytskyi, who is a suspect in the "Clean City" case concerning land corruption in the capital, illegally crossed the Romanian border and is currently in Vienna.

This is stated in a material by "Ukrainian Pravda".

According to the publication’s sources in law enforcement, Komarnytskyi initially hid from the investigation in Kyiv, then in the Kyiv region, and on February 16, he ended up in Romania. However, he did not officially cross either the Ukrainian or Romanian borders.

Currently, law enforcement officials are investigating the involvement of border guards, intelligence representatives, and law enforcement in the ex-deputy’s escape.

Journalist Mykhailo Tkach found Komarnytskyi in the Austrian capital, Vienna. He accused the journalists of espionage and called everything reported about him by the NABU and SAPO fake news.

Komarnytskyi proposed to meet with the journalists for an interview but later canceled the meeting, providing written comments instead.

"The case you want to discuss is political and is used for political pressure on me as a lawyer. I believe you are aware of this. Previous media publications were openly manipulative. As I said, I am ready for a civilized dialogue," he later wrote to Tkach.
