Shmyhal announced when the pension payments for working pensioners will be indexed
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced the average pension size in Ukraine and informed about whose pensions will be increased in April.
On March 25, during a government meeting, the Prime Minister noted that in March, pensions were indexed for over 10 million citizens. In April, another group of citizens can expect an increase in pensions. This concerns those pensioners who are working.
In March, pensions were indexed by 11.5% for more than 10 million Ukrainians. The average pension reached 6,345 UAH. In April, the average pension amount will increase.
"From April 1, we will automatically index payments for nearly 630,000 working pensioners, considering their updated insurance record," - reports Denys Shmyhal.
The Ministry of Social Policy informs that currently, 10.3 million Ukrainians receive pensions from the state. Thus, they note that almost every third citizen receives state payments. For many pensioners, pensions are practically the only source of income.
In March, the latest pension indexation was carried out, resulting in the average pension size increasing from 5,789 UAH to 6,345 UAH. Temporary limits on the maximum pension indexation size are set at 1,500 UAH. The minimum pension increase will be 100 UAH. Then, payments were indexed for:
- 9.2 million pensioners who receive pensions on general grounds;
- 672,000 pensioners from law enforcement agencies;
- 98,000 individuals who receive disability and survivor pensions due to the Chornobyl disaster;
- 79,600 disabled pensioners as a result of war and combat participants who receive minimum pension payments;
- 23,400 pensioners, former employees of local government bodies, and civil servants.
